EXAMPLES OF GOOD NETIQUETTE
1. Give
context to your comment/s from the original message.
2. Before
posting, you make sure that what you are posting is exactly what you want to
say.
3. If
you want to make some jokes, make them humorous not annoying. To avoid
misunderstandings, you can use “smiling” emoticons, putting “LOL” or just by
starting with a phrase like “On a lighter note…”
4. Not
all of us are very much familiar in using computer or internet. We call them as
newbies. Sometimes, we should find time to help them out.
5. It
is very usual to want to be noticed by people on social media. There are lots
of ways-but spamming is not a good idea. It can cause annoyance and may have
opposite effects.
6. Some
people want to get most of communicating online, just be who you are. Changing
yourself will discourage people to become open with you.
7. Express
yourself honestly.
8. Allow
other people to express their feelings too.
9. Evade
yourself from writing words or sentences in capital letters. Others consider it
as “YOU ARE SHOUTING AT THEM!”
10. Respect other’s
privacy. Do not pass to another person’s private information unless you have
their permission.
11. If someone is
abusing and insulting you online known as “flaming”, you better ignore him or her. Avoiding conflict is a good
netiquette.
